           I Peter, Lesson #2 "Entire Sanctification"

            Focus: To emphasize to Roman citizens and residents living in troubled times for Jews                                         and Gentile Christians the nature of being saved; the formation of holy-love as our                                   real-life response to our own suffering, just as it was in Jesus. Sub-theme: Living                                      Jesus is an essential grace in saving us and through us (and beyond) the world.

            In a Phrase: Making Real in us and between us and in the World what Jesus has                                                    already declared to be true of us.

  Rough Draft, Reflections on Teaching Mark As always: Comment or add your own thoughts I've never entirely understood the opposition to Post-Modernism from within parts of my own evangelical tradition.  I get the initial hesitation we all feel when anything or anyone places in doubt the paradigms in logic or philosophy upon which our faith (worldview) rests. I certainly understand that my belief in theism of the Christian sort is the most incredible of Narratives. I so want it to be. Worse, I have no desire to live in any universe where God is, in heart and character, other than whom Jesus of Nazareth pictures God to be. Even so, with all said, a larger truth must be admitted or the very foundation of Christendom is lost.  It is: We have to admit we could be wrong.. Rough Draft of Ideas originally developed in my 2nd book on Restoration, "Entirely Christs... and Not Yet!" As Always, feel free to comment or add  your own thoughts... There was an old word I grew up with that captures the tension inside the writings of these 180 days; conspicuence . It is a word that images the human frailty that makes us vulnerable to desire, whether for  ravenous consuming, sexual pleasure as its own end or an inordinate focus on one's identity or dignity.  Conspicuence is the non-rational, fleshly need for comforting and nurturing and possessing whatever our ego, body or soul longs for. Conspicuence flows underneath consciousness, its hunger always hiding in the shadows of perceived unfulfilled need. It's at least a cousin to what we moderns reference as "lust" as possessing a pleasure, person or experience; lust rooted in the memory, unfelt till suddenly awakened by a stimuli of smell, taste, touch, sight or hearing propelled by previo...
