           I Peter 3: 18-22, Lesson #4

           Focus: To emphasize the import of Peter & Pauls' impact on the gospel of Jesus, noting their                               managed tension as "Apostles of Jesus" and mutual recognition of one another for the                             gospel's sake. This teaching reviews the 1st century discipleship and communal gospel                            narrative verses our 19th-21st century individualized Story of Jesus; especially in light                            of the vast number of vulnerable communities and persons who are central to the early                            gospel telling in contrast with the largely person-centric, highly individualized Story                                of God today, with a heaven and hell motif.

Simply Awake

She, a 70+ woman who passed, is a delightful soul, her smiling eyes ever betraying a mischievous spirit, just underneath her air of sainthood.  In our "Prime Timer's group she was the only woman, who when playing cards or rolling dice, would risk everything in a last effort to come in first; never content to play it safe and land a respectable 2nd or third or eighth place. Where Faith, Science, Doubt & philosophy Meet

  Rough Draft, Reflections on Teaching Mark As always: Comment or add your own thoughts I've never entirely understood the opposition to Post-Modernism from within parts of my own evangelical tradition.  I get the initial hesitation we all feel when anything or anyone places in doubt the paradigms in logic or philosophy upon which our faith (worldview) rests. I certainly understand that my belief in theism of the Christian sort is the most incredible of Narratives. I so want it to be. Worse, I have no desire to live in any universe where God is, in heart and character, other than whom Jesus of Nazareth pictures God to be. Even so, with all said, a larger truth must be admitted or the very foundation of Christendom is lost.  It is: We have to admit we could be wrong.. We who are In Christ believe the most radical of ideas.
